General information about water parks in Punta Cana
Water parks are a must-have for your family vacation in Punta Cana, especially when traveling with kids and teens who love the water, who always needs to be entertained and who just can’t stop splashing and running around. Luckily, there are dozens of Punta Cana resorts with water parks, especially as in the last years a couple of new projects have opened. Therefore it’s relatively easy to find a Punta Cana hotel with water slides that will suit your kids AND your budget.
When looking for a Punta Cana family all-inclusive resort, it is important to note that not every family resort has a water park (even some search engines or online travel agencies might try to tell you). Therefore, I have crafted this hand-selected list of some of the best all-inclusive resorts with a water park in Punta Cana, to make it easier for you to pick the right accommodation for your Punta Cana family vacation. After reading this article, you will exactly know what to expect from the water parks in Punta Cana. I have visited all of these resorts, hence I can recommend these water park hotels from my own experience.
Furthermore, it is important to note that all water parks in Punta Cana are located on the grounds of all-inclusive resorts.
On the one hand, this means that if you are staying in a particular all-inclusive resort, access to the on-site water park is free and included in your stay. There is not a single all-inclusive resort with water park in Punta Cana which charges extra for using the water park.
On the other hand, as of now, it is important to know that there is not a single water park in Punta Cana which you can access from outside – with the exception of Caribbean Lake Park* which does have a lot of water activities, but no water slides (check tickets for Caribbean Lake Park here*). This being said, if you are staying in an Airbnb, guesthouse or even in another resort without a splash park, you won’t have access to any of the water parks listed in this article. However, you can try to get a day pass* for your desired water park resort in Punta Cana if you’re staying in a hotel without one.
However, in case you are looking for something similar to a water park and if water slides are not a must, you can check out Scape Park Cap Cana, which is an amazing amusement park in Punta Cana with a zipline leading into the water, water hammocks, ropes and artificial waterfalls. It is probably what comes closest to an off-resort water park in Punta Cana. Check out the full review of Scape Park Cap Cana here.
And in case you are interested in further Punta Cana excursions with your kids, you can have a look at the best things to do in Punta Cana with kids you shouldn’t miss during your family holiday.
The best Punta Cana all-inclusive resorts with water park
Grand Sirenis Punta Cana Resort: Aquagames for all ages
Grand Sirenis can be considered as the origin of all water parks in Punta Cana as it was one of the first all-inclusive resorts to have an on-site water park – and it is still one of the biggest, suitable for all ages. This Punta Cana aqua park, called Sirenis Aquagames, features a huge tower with 7 different slides for older children and teens, a large area with a pirates ship for kids aged 4 to 11 (including 10 mini water slides and 4 splash barrels) and a water playground with different water sprinklers and animal statues for the smallest visitors (2 to 4 years) who love to play in the water.
The three areas are all located within the on-site resort water park but are well separated from each other so that the youngest kids playing in the water don’t get disturbed by the teens or adults riding the thrilling water slides. Furthermore, there is also a central swimming pool in the water park which offers the chance to relax and cool down a bit. The Sirenis Aquagames water park in Punta Cana also features a bar and snack area.
The water park at Grand Sirenis is certainly not the newest water park in Punta Cana, but everything is well taken care of and it is great fun to spend an afternoon while staying in this family-friendly all-inclusive resort with water park. We particularly enjoyed the Aquaracer, where you slide down competition style with water mats on a 4-lane water slide.
Grand Sirenis Punta Cana Resort is a perfect resort for a family vacation in Punta Cana, especially when looking for an affordable holiday option. The entire all-inclusive resort got completely renovated in 2018, it feels like a newly opened hotel that comes with a pleasant design and cozy lounge areas. As you can read in our comprehensive hotel review about Grand Sirenis Punta Cana Resort, the price-value ratio of this family hotel in Punta Cana is impressive, especially considering the quality of the food and the very modern rooms. It is also a very quiet hotel, so if you are looking for peace and relaxation in Punta Cana, this is your place to go.

Lopesan Costa Bavaro: a large water park for kids
Lopesan Costa Bavaro is another Punta Cana all-inclusive family resort with a water park and definitely one to consider, particularly as the resort offers something great for everyone.
But let’s talk first about the Lopesan Costa Bavaro’s water park, which is called Splash Island – and the name lives up to its name. It features a lot of water games and fun, along with 5 waterslides, particularly suitable for kids between the ages of 3 and 10. You won’t find any huge monster slides here, but especially kids will have fun the entire day.
In case you’re traveling with toddlers to Punta Cana, there is also a smaller splash pad for the little ones in the main area of Lopesan Costa Bavaro.
Lopesan Costa Bavaro Punta Cana is a great choice for families and adults likewise. The resort features a gently sloping beach right at Playa Bavaro, the finest sand, several pool areas and wonderfully decorated tropical rooms. Even though the resort is not super luxurious, it is among our favorite all-inclusive hotels in Punta Cana.

Royalton Splash Punta Cana: perfect for kids and teenagers
When looking for Punta Cana Resorts with water parks, it is always worth checking the rates for Royalton Splash Punta Cana*, as their Splash water park is one of the biggest water parks in Punta Cana. It has 7 big water slides, including two you can use with tubes: a kamikaze slide, a 4-lane Aquaracer, a black hole (with tubes), two regular water slides (one open and one closed), a free fall twister and a roller coaster water slide where you use the tubes as well. The entire water slide area in the water park can be accessed by every resort guest who is at least 3 feet and 11 inches tall (1.20m). As you can see, Royalton Splash is a great option if you are looking for a hotel in Punta Cana with water slides.
For all smaller visitors, the Splash Park at Royalton Splash Punta Cana offers a children’s area called Mini Slide water park with at least 7 mini water slides and several other areas to play and splash around. The water park at Punta Cana’s Royalton Splash also includes a large wave pool (operating every hour) and a mega huge water barrel soaking everyone who is standing underneath, which can easily be 20-30 people. There is a bar with non-alcoholic drinks in the water park as well in case you get thirsty.
When visiting the Punta Cana aqua park at Royalton Splash, it was a lot of fun for us to ride the slides with the tubes, as they were different from the typical water slides you find in most other water parks in Punta Cana. The Roller Coaster slide is particularly unique.
Royalton Splash is an affordable all-inclusive resort in Punta Cana (check out the cheapest all-inclusive resorts in Punta Cana in this article) aiming at families and travelers who are looking for a Punta Cana hotel with a water park. When staying at Royalton Splash, you can take advantage of a resort that got upgraded twice in the last 2-3 years. First, it was completely renovated in 2018/2019 and changed its name from Memories Splash Punta Cana to Grand Memories Splash Punta Cana due to the added amenities and renovated rooms. After Covid-19 in Punta Cana, it got another upgrade as guests are now allowed to access the beach area of and certain restaurants and bars at neighboring Royalton Punta Cana, which offers a slightly higher quality regarding food and drinks. The name changed again to what it is now, Royalton Splash Punta Cana. It features two large pools, access to 6 restaurants, plenty of bars and a huge family entertainment area which is perfect for kids and children of all ages visiting Punta Cana.
Royalton Splash is located right next to the water park which is perfect if your kids want to spend a couple of hours every day here. The beach is a 10-12 minute walk away (half of the distance can be done with the resort trolley train), passing through Royalton Punta Cana.

Hyatt Ziva: water park in Punta Canas’ most prestigious resort
Hyatt Ziva is one of the most mentioned resorts when it comes to the best family resorts in Punta Cana, as it offers the highest standards of quality, service and amenities. And, good news, you’re lucky, Hyatt Ziva is one of those resorts in the Dominican Republic with a water park as well.
Hyatt Ziva’s water park, called Canapolis, is a medium-sized water park for all ages. It doesn’t feature the most spectacular and crazy water slides in Punta Cana, but has a wide array of slides and water games for all ages, even though kids will love it more than teens. The quality and quantity of slides are comparable with those at Dreams Macao Beach.
Besides the slides, Hyatt Ziva’s Canapolis water park features a lazy river, various water cannons and a grotto waterfall, guaranteeing fun and refreshment on hot Caribbean days. There are also two food trucks and a bar right at the water park.
If you decide to spend your vacation at Hyatt Ziva, you can be sure to visit one of the best luxury resorts in Punta Cana for families and adults likewise. Even though the hotel is not overly spectacular, service and amenities are top-notch. Furthermore, since its opening, both Hyatt resorts in the Dominican Republic, Hyatt Ziva and Hyatt Zilara, are ranked in the top spots of Tripadvisor – which is also reflected in the pricing. Hyatt Punta Cana and its waterpark with a lazy river are not among the affordable resorts in Punta Cana.

Riu Bambu: 2 water parks for teens and toddlers
Let’s move on to the next Punta Cana resort with water park which is Riu Bambu. It is a large club-style all-inclusive resort in Punta Cana with access to the Riu Splash Water World which is approximately 10 minutes walking away in the center of the big Riu property in Punta Cana. It features 6 big water slides, a playground for children with further 8 mini slides and a lounge area with a bar. There is no separate area for very small children up to 3 years, but there is a mini water park close to the beach right at Riu Bambu which is perfect for toddlers.
Riu Splash Water World was opened in 2016, so it is one of the newer water parks in Punta Cana. This water park hotel in Punta Cana is perfect for all those looking for thrilling water slides, as the Splash Water World features two kamikaze-style water-slides, one 4-lane Aquaracer with water mats, two regular water slides (one closed and one open) and one speed and free-fall twister where you get tumbled in the twister and fall into the water.
The water slides are great fun at Riu Splash Water Work, particularly the free-fall twister was stimulating adrenaline. Smaller children will love the water playground with its water buckets and plenty of mini slides.
When staying at Riu Bambu, you can expect a club-style all-inclusive stay with plenty of restaurants and activities to choose from. It is definitely not a luxury hotel, but you can count on affordable resort services for the entire family. Riu Bambu does have 4 main pools and consists of 1 main building and 35 smaller buildings, which let the all-inclusive resort appear much smaller than it is, considering it has 1000 rooms. Riu Palace Punta Cana: access to famous Riu Splash Water World
If you are looking for a kind of luxury resort with water park in Punta Cana, Riu Palace Punta Cana could be a perfect option. It is not a high-end resort, but it offers superb services, great food, decent rooms, a prime beach location and – most important – does have access to Riu Splash Water World.
When staying at Riu Palace Punta Cana, you can enjoy the same Riu Splash Water Park as described for Riu Bambu, so get ready to enjoy this Punta Cana resort with a water park and some of the best slides. Two kamikaze slides and a free-fall twister are waiting for you, among others. As you have access to Riu Bambu as well, toddlers will have the most fun at the mini water park of Riu Bambu instead of visiting the bigger Splash Water World. On the other side, for older children, the playground at Splash Water World is perfect.
From Riu Palace Punta Cana it is a 10-minute walk to the water park of the Riu resort.
When staying at Riu Palace Punta Cana, you can expect an all-inclusive resort with a great balance in all aspects. As mentioned in the comprehensive hotel review about Riu Palace Punta Cana, there is nothing super spectacular at this Punta Cana hotel, but everything does have very good quality. All areas are very well-maintained, the staff is always attentive and the food is pretty delicious in most restaurants. It is definitely worth a try when you want something much better than the typical cheap all-inclusive resorts in Punta Cana, but don’t have the budget for a high-end luxury hotel.

Dreams Onyx: water park with jungle theme
Dreams Onyx Water Park is among peoples’ favorite water parks in Punta Cana, even though it is neither the biggest nor the newest one. However, it is set in a fantastic tropical setting with contemporary design elements and therefore features a wonderful tropical theme.
The Dreams Onyx water park has four slides, among them 2 closed and dark slides and 2 white and open slides. While the dark slides are the typical curvy slides, the white ones are high-speed adrenaline slides, not for the faint-hearted.
But don’t worry, if you are traveling to the Dominican Republic with smaller kids or toddlers, Dreams Onyx is also a great family resort with a water park for you as there is a separate splash pad for the smaller ones. Furthermore, Dreams Onyx is also one of those Punta Cana resorts with a lazy river – and this one here is particularly exciting as it takes you on a journey through tropical vegetation and several water games.
Dreams Onyx is not without a reason a great family resort in Punta Cana. Besides the water park, it comes with a kids club and a teens club, unlimited à-la-carte dinners without reservations, premium drinks at all bars and spacious suites around the property. It is located in Uvero Alto, a peaceful and mostly virgin (except for some resorts) area in Punta Cana. Adults at Dreams Onyx also enjoy full access to neighboring breathless Punta Cana. You can also book several amazing family activities in Punta Cana from Dreams Onyx.
Water park features: 2 open speed slides, 2 black slides, lazy river with floaties, splash pad for toddlers
What is special about this water park in Punta Cana: the vegetation around the water park makes it a very special place
Included in your all-inclusive resort stay: yes
Recommended age: older kids and teens

Riu República: adults-only water park in Punta Cana
This is another Riu resort with water park in Punta Cana – but this one is totally different from Riu Bambu and Riu Palace Punta Cana. Riu República has its own water park in Punta Cana and is an adults-only hotel.
This Punta Cana water park at Riu República, which is also called Splash Water World (which might be a bit confusing as it is a different Splash Water World than the other presented above for Riu Bambu and Riu Palace Bavaro), does have four water slides: one kamikaze slide, two regular (closed) water slides and one 4-lane racer. As Riu República is an adults-only resort, there is no children’s playground or any mini-slides.
All water slides at Riu República are a little bit smaller and shorter than at the original “Splash Water World”, but they are still fun, especially if you are enjoying Riu República with a group of friends during your vacation in Punta Cana.
Riu República is an adults-only resort in Punta Cana particularly popular among young adults and couples. Activities and social gatherings are always going on and it definitely can be considered as a party resort in Punta Cana. You also have access to two weekly parties of the massive Riu Party events.
Riu República doesn’t share the property with the other Riu Resorts in Punta Cana (Riu Palace Punta Cana, Riu Palace Bavaro, Riu Palace Macao, Riu Bambu, Riu Naiboa) and therefore doesn’t have access to the big Riu Splash Water World on those hotels. That’s why Riu República is a Punta Cana resort with a water park on its own.
Water park features: a tower with 4 water slides
What is special about this water park in Punta Cana: it is the only water park in Punta Cana which is exclusively for adults
Included in your all-inclusive resort stay: yes
Recommended age: 18 and over (adults-only resort)

Dreams Macao Punta Cana: easy slides with lazy river + toddler water park
Dreams Macao Punta Cana is one of the newest Punta Cana resorts with a water park as it was just opened in March 2020. Therefore, it is also one of the newest water parks in Punta Cana, featuring 4 waterslides, a lazy river and a separate children’s water park.
This Punta Cana water park at Dreams Macao is located at the back section of the resort, giving all older children and adults a fun time. The water slides are consisting of a 4-lane aqua-racer, a smaller kamikaze and two regular water slides, one open and one closed. A lazy river is flowing around the water slide area and makes for a fun ride while enjoying the sun and some quality time with your loved ones. To access the Dreams Macao Punta Cana water park, a minimum age of 9 years and height of 3 feet and 11 inches (1.20 meters) is required. If you get hungry when splashing around, you can enjoy snacks and quick grabs from a food truck which is located right inside Dreams Macao water park.
In the family section of Dreams Macao Punta Cana, a water park for children is waiting for the younger guests. It features various water sprinklers, a big playground, several mini slides and a very well-designed compound so that younger children will love this area. The pool is super shallow, hence even toddlers can enjoy this mini water park.
Dreams Macao Punta Cana Resort with its water park is the only all-inclusive resort in Macao. It is a perfect option if you are looking for a modern and newly opened resort in a stunning natural setting. It is located right at Macao Beach, one of the most beautiful beaches in Punta Cana and a favorite among the locals. As described in my extensive hotel review of Dreams Macao Beach, everything is brand new, you can have unlimited à-la-carte dining without reservations and enjoy premium drinks throughout the resort. Make sure to have a drink at the beautiful pool bar with a view of Macao Beach pictured below.
Water park features: a tower with 4 water slides, children’s water park with 7+ mini slides, lazy river, food truck
What is special about this water park in Punta Cana: especially the children’s water park is impressive at Dreams Macao Punta Cana
Included in your all-inclusive resort stay: yes

Hard Rock Resort & Casino Punta Cana: newly opened water park with most slides
Hard Rock Punta Cana Resort & Casino is the largest Punta Cana hotel with a water park – around 1800 rooms are waiting for you and your family. And after the huge new water park at Hard Rock, Rockaway Bay, was opened in 2022, it also offers unlimited entertainment regarding water fun.
Rockaway Bay Water Park is home to an impressive amount of 26 slides, even though not all of them are fullworthy ones as there are a lot of slides for kids and toddlers. Still, you have around 45 large high-adrenaline slides here at Hard Rock Punta Cana’s water park.
The 26 slides at Rockaway Bay Water Park include:
– for teens and adults: 9 high-speed slides
– for kids and children: 9 family-friendly slides
– for children: 8 smaller slides
Even though Rockaway Bay Water Park at Hard Rock Punta Cana has been open since summer 2022, you still can use the smaller water park closer to the beach.
At one of their 13 pools, there is already a family section with two medium-sized water slides and a children’s playground with 4 mini water slides, water sprinklers and water barrels. While the 2 bigger water slides are for all kids with a height of 3.6 feet to 5.2 feet (1.10-1.60 meters), the playground is suitable for children from 3 to 10 years more or less. There is also a fully-stocked bar right in this water park area of Hard Rock Punta Cana.
If you are already a bit older and don’t fit on the slides, you can grab a tube and flow around the lazy river with a drink of your choice. The lazy river takes you around the Ipanema restaurant and is a fun way to enjoy yourself with friends or your kids. There are always around 10 tubes available, so it never gets too crowded on the lazy river.
As mentioned, Hard Rock Hotel & Casino is the largest all-inclusive resort with water park in Punta Cana, which comes with some impressive amenities. 9 restaurants, 13 pools and 25 bars are just some of the facilities you can enjoy, along with great live entertainment, one of the biggest casinos in Punta Cana, a high-quality ice-cream shop with probably the biggest ice cream selection in Punta Cana (your kids will love it) and much more. Unlimited fun is guaranteed at this all-inclusive resort in Punta Cana. You can find more impressions in this extensive resort review of Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Punta Cana.
Water park features: huge water park “Rockaway Bay” with 26 slides + smaller splash area with 2 water slides, children’s water park, 4 mini slides and water sprinklers + lazy river

Dreams Royal Beach: fantastic lazy river and soon-to-come water park
Dreams Royal Beach Punta Cana is not Punta Cana’s newest resort, but it is the resort with the newest water park in Punta Cana – just opened in January 2024. Furthermore, it is also the resort with one of the best lazy rivers in Punta Cana.
The water park features various slides for different ages. It consists of a slide tower with two regular slides (one open and one closed), one kamikaze slide and one 4-lane aquaracer. Furthermore, there is a splashpad with two shorter slides for kids and toddlers as well as several water games. To keep you hydrated during the water fun, there is a bar which also serves snacks similar to the Coco Café.
The water park at Dreams Royal Beach is very similar to the one at Dreams Flora. It is great for some hours of fun, but isn’t as huge as the big ones at Riu Palace, Grand Sirenis or Royalton Splash.
Furthermore, Dreams Royal Beach is one of the best Punta Cana resorts with a lazy river as the vegetation is beautiful, the lazy river super long (also perfect if you love to swim longer distances in the pool) and the whole setting of the property incredibly relaxing and peaceful. The lazy river has a length of approx. 1000 feet.
Additionally Dreams Royal Beach features a wonderful infinity pool (in a likewise fantastic tropical setting), a perfect beach location at Bavaro Beach, some great activities for kids and teens and large choices of premium brands and cute bars throughout the resort.
Water park features: 1000-feet lazy river; 4 bigger slides, splash pad, bar, snack bar
What is special about this water park in Punta Cana: the lazy river is set in tropical vegetation and a water park was just opened in 2024
Included in your all-inclusive resort stay: yes

Looking for an all inclusive the a heated lazy river in Punta cana. Suggestions?
Scott
Hi Scott,
I don’t know if there are any heated lazy rivers in Punta Cana – I would doubt so, as pools are with a comfortable temperature year-round due to the tropical climate.
Cheers from Punta Cana
Chris
Chris. Great information! Want to go to Punta Cana in late March of 2023 for wife’s 60th birthday. Taking my three daughter, 2 husbands, and 4 grandchildren (ages 2,3,4 and 5). Looking for best family all inclusive. Need a watermark for the kids and one for the adults! Would love a swim out suite for me and my wife. We love the beach but do not swim in ocean much. Pool selection is much more important. What is your suggestion? Have a fairly decent budget to spend but not too crazy. Thanks
Hi Dan,
thanks for your comment.
Lopesan (no super water park for adults though), Dreams Macao and RIU Palace Punta Cana (no swim-outs) could fit your requirements, you can check them out here:
Lopesan: https://www.puntacanatravelblog.com/accommodation-resorts/lopesan-costa-bavaro-all-inclusive-resort/
Dreams Macao: https://www.puntacanatravelblog.com/accommodation-resorts/dreams-macao-beach-punta-cana-all-inclusive-resort/
RIU Palace Punta Cana: https://www.puntacanatravelblog.com/accommodation-resorts/riu-palace-punta-cana-all-inclusive-resort/
Dreams Macao might indeed be the best fit.

Looking for an all inclusive with a waterpark that 2 adults as well as 2 kids: 5 and 7 can enjoy. The kids love slides. Would also like a kids club.

hello….we are seriously considering taking the family to Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana, which seems to have a great water park & lots of family offerings….any reason why that resort is not mentioned? want be sure I haven’t overlooked something…thanks!!
Hi Marty,
Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana is a great pick, you can check out the best prices here: https://www.puntacanatravelblog.com/recommendation/accommodation-hyatt-ziva-cap-cana/
The only reason why it is not mentioned here is that this is one of the few Punta Cana resorts which we haven’t been able to visit so far.
Cheers, Chris
Which of these resorts doesn’t require reservations to any of their themed or a la carte restaurants? Thanks
Hi Marites,
most of these water park resorts in Punta Cana don’t require reservations for dinner, among them Royalton Splash Punta Cana, Royalton Punta Cana, Hyatt Ziva, Riu Bambu, Riu Palace Punta Cana, Dreams Onyx, Riu República, Dreams Macao Punta Cana, Hard Rock Resort and Dreams Royal Beach.
Chris
Hello Chris, have you made it to the Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana yet? If so, please comment. I’m ready to book their for my 2 families; grandkids aged 5, 10 and 12.
Also, I’m really concerned re: sargassum on the beautiful beaches of Punta Cana. We’ll be there the last week of February.
Thank you for any feedback you may have,
Jane
Hi Jane,
yes, Hyatt Ziva is included in the list up there, just check out the article above. I guess you’re referring to an old comment. I have been there in the meantime and you can find out more about Hyatt Ziva’s water park above in the article.
Make also sure to check prices for Hyatt Ziva here to see if they have any current deals: https://www.puntacanatravelblog.com/recommendation/accommodation-hyatt-ziva-cap-cana/
Best regards
Chris
