If you’re looking for an adults-only vacation in Punta Cana with some touches of luxury but without totally breaking the bank, the following article is a must-read for you. While there are all-adult resorts in the Dominican Republic for all kinds of travelers, the following article lists the best all-inclusive adult resorts in Punta Cana for affordable luxury as we call it, which means you get some more comfort and luxury than in the cheapest resorts in Punta Cana but won’t spend a fortune like at some top-rated (and top-priced) resorts in Punta Cana. Usually, those mid-price resorts in Punta Cana will be perfect to enjoy a worry-free holiday, eat delicious food and have great amenities and services all around the hotel.
This article is about the best mid-price adults-only resorts in Punta Cana for affordable luxury. Depending on your travel budget, you can also find other similar recommendation here:

What is affordable luxury and the mid-price segment?
To be honest, the resorts in this article are a bit harder to define than for example the best Punta Cana all-inclusive adults-only resorts on a budget (where we simply can choose the cheapest resorts according to their pricing, combined with our experiences in those hotels) or the best Punta Cana high-end 5-star resorts with all-inclusive adults only (where we have chosen the top resorts according to our experience and customers’ reviews, without too much consideration of the price).
But this explanation of the other articles about the best adults-only resorts in Punta Cana also shows more or less what is the definition of the hotels we’re talking about in this article here:
– Affordable luxury and better than the cheap resorts in Punta Cana
– Not breaking the bank by disregarding the most expensive hotels in Punta Cana
– Great customer reviews and a satisfying guest experience (by us and other guests)
– Full-service resorts and stand-alone adults-only all-inclusive in Punta Cana
To summarize this, the following resorts are all a great combination of comfort, price and amenities, hence they’re perfect if you’re looking for a worry-free adults-only vacation in Punta Cana.
The best mid-price all-inclusive adults-only resorts in Punta Cana
Melia Punta Cana Adults Only
If there is a favorite resort among the following 5 mid-price all-inclusive adult resorts in Punta Cana, it might be Melia Punta Cana Beach Resort. The resort was completely remodeled just before COVID-19 and opened with a completely new concept, refurbished rooms and wonderful common spaces and amenities.
The full name of this hotel is “Meliá Punta Cana Beach Resort Adults Only – A Wellness Inclusive Resort” which already shows the most important features: adults-only and wellness, a perfect combination for a girl’s getaway or when looking for a couple-friendly resort in Punta Cana.
The wellness experience can be seen from two different perspectives:
- First of all, the so-called 5 spaces, completely focused on wellness and well-being. Those are the silent space, the social space, the personal space, the culinary space and the sensory space. You can find more about this concept in our extensive Melia Punta Cana Adults Only review.
- Second, the wellness experiences: especially when you book a “The Level Suite Beachside by Stay Well“ room, a “The Level Garden Suite by Stay Well” room or a “The Level Ocean Suite by Stay Well” room, you have daily spa treatments included.
But it’s not all about wellness at this mid-price adults-only hotel. The culinary options are amazing, especially when you book a “The Level” suite, as this enables you to visit two additional restaurants. Particularly the á-la-carte options for breakfast, lunch and dinner at Quimera restaurant are amazing! But also the other restaurants – if you don’t have a “The Level” room – are well worth it and outstanding considering the mostly moderate prices you pay for Melia Punta Cana Adults Only. It is not without reason that Melia Punta Cana also makes it to our list of the best adults-only resorts in Punta Cana for foodies (and cocktail lovers).
There is so much to do and see at this wonderful Punta Cana adults-only resort that it’s worth checking out the extensive Melia Punta Cana Beach Resort review. The only kind of traveler I would not recommend this resort is if you’re looking to party. Melia Punta Cana is not a party hotel, it is more on the quieter and more relaxed side. Check out Royalton Chic below if you’re looking for more social activities and entertainment or have a look at Riu Republica among our cheap Punta Cana adults-only resorts if you’re looking for a real party resort in Punta Cana.
Pros:
– Amazing culinary options, especially as a “The Level” guest
– Gorgeous views from the rooftop bar (only for “The Level” guests)
– Some of the best tropical gardens in Punta Cana and an amazing beach location with one of the widest stretches at Bavaro Beach
Cons:
– Long distances to walk between the lobby, the beach and some of the restaurants
– Even though renovated and refurbished, the Deluxe Rooms are kind of outdated
– Limited number of à-la-carte restaurants for guests without “The Level” privileges
What makes this mid-price Punta Cana adults-only resort unique: some of the best food in its price range + perfect beach location

Serenade All Suites Resort
One of the newest adults-only resorts in Punta Cana is Serenade All Suites Resort, which just opened in October 2023. It is the sister resort of neighboring Serenade Punta Cana, which caters to all kinds of travelers but is more and more managed as a very family-friendly resort in Punta Cana, especially now as more couples and adults will book the new Serenade All Suites Adults Only Resort.
Serenade All Suites Resort is a stand-alone adults-only all-inclusive resort in Punta Cana that has sufficient amenities, services and restaurants to make it not necessary to head over to the family side – even though you’re allowed to do so. The resort features 2 buffets, 4 à-la-carte restaurants (reservations are required) as well as 3 pools and several bars, including a fantastic rooftop bar with an infinity pool (even though this one is shared with the VIP rooms of Serenade Punta Cana), which allows for stunning views of the surrounding areas. The resort also has its gym as well as a versatile activity and entertainment schedule, including water sports, pool activities and beach entertainment.
Serenade All Suites Resort is one of the quieter Punta Cana adults-only resorts in the mid-price segment, but one that features its fair share of luxury. Just imagine booking the regular Serenade Punta Cana but with one step up in terms of quality, service and food selection. Especially the modern rooms will convince all those who love stylish suites, as particularly the cheaper Punta Cana adult resorts mostly come with outdated rooms.
Pros:
– Fantastic rooftop bar with infinity pool and great views
– Stand-alone resort with sufficient restaurants (but additional options at Serenade Punta Cana)
– Modern and stylish rooms for a reasonable price
Cons:
– Reservations are required for à-la-carte restaurants
– The beach is usually beautiful, but there are better beaches in Punta Cana
What makes this mid-price Punta Cana adults-only resort unique: new, relaxed vibe, contemporary rooms, but still affordable

Royalton Chic Punta Cana
Ok, here is another favorite and highly recommended adults-only resort for affordable luxury in Punta Cana: Royalton Chic. It is a pretty social hotel with lots of activities and entertainment, but doesn’t offer the massive parties you can expect at some of the Riu Parties in Punta Cana, including Riu Republica. Royalton Chic is rather the perfect place to socialize and mingle with like-minded travelers, mainly between the ages of 30 and 50.
One of the biggest joys at Royalton Chic Adults Only for us was the food. The buffet offers a hand-picked selection of high-quality food, which meets different dietary needs. Fresh juices are available, same as exquisite ingredients and dishes you won’t find at every all-inclusive buffet, such as salmon, octopus, freshly grilled meats, delicious cheese, plenty of exquisite salads, plenty of seeds, almonds, grapes, etc. Also, the à-la-carte restaurants were fantastic, especially Tandori was extremely delicious and the best Indian restaurant we have visited among all all-inclusive resorts in Punta Cana.
Further things to mention when talking about Royalton Chic as one of the best Punta Cana all-adults resorts are stylish but rather small rooms, the wonderful swim-out suites, regular (but decent) pool parties, the daily entertainment which is much more creative and interactive than in other resorts and the beach in Uvero Alto, which isn’t the most beautiful one but gets its job done for a wonderful adults-only vacation in Punta Cana and the Dominican Republic.
Pros:
– Amazing buffet and one of the best Indian restaurants in Punta Cana
– Extremely large selection of drinks and international premium brands
– Creative entertainment options, occasional parties and social activities (which all have a little extra compared to the standard entertainment in other resorts)
Cons:
– Rooms are stylish but rather on the small side
– The beach is good, but not one of the most beautiful beaches in Punta Cana
– Pool and restaurant areas were designed with a lot of concrete, there are hardly any tropical gardens at Royalton Chic Adults Only
What makes this mid-price Punta Cana adults-only resort unique: amazing food and creative entertainment options are the perfect base for all those who like a lively resort vibe

TRS Cap Cana
TRS Cap Cana is one of the smallest adults-only resorts in Punta Cana and the Dominican Republic – and it is also by far the most compact resort here in this list of the best mid-price all-adults all-inclusive resorts.
The resort is located in Cap Cana, in the south of Punta Cana, and features a different resort vibe. Obviously, with 115 rooms, you can’t expect the same activities and entertainment as in a 1000-room resort. Still, you can enjoy a fully-equipped gym, paddle yoga, DJ sessions, non-motorized water sports, live music, sunset spinning classes, badminton, pool volleyball and more, even though not all of these activities are offered daily. A big advantage of this smaller-sized resort is definitely that you won’t have all the hustle and bustle of a huge resort and that there is hardly any walking involved as you can reach everything within 2 minutes.
Furthermore, this Cap Cana all-inclusive adults-only resort is a bit different as it is located directly next to the prestigious Cap Cana marina, which provides the hotel with a particularly elegant vibe. Even though there is a small artificial beach at TRS Cap Cana, you’re more likely to use Juanillo Beach, one of the best beaches in Punta Cana, which is just a 10-minute drive away. The hotel offers a free shuttle to Juanillo Beach.
With 4 restaurants and 4 bars, TRS Cap Cana also offers more than sufficient culinary options. Considering that there are only 115 rooms, you can expect very personalized service and never any long lines.
If you love the area of Cap Cana but are interested in a slightly bigger and more entertaining hotel for adults, you can check our selection of the best Cap Cana adults-only resort.
Pros:
– More personalized service and less hustle and bustle
– Small and elegant resort
– Good selection of restaurants for a resort of this size
Cons:
– Only a very small beach, proper beach 10 minutes driving away
– Entertainment and activities might be limited
– Isolated location with hardly anything in walking distance (and Uber + Punta Cana public transport not available)
What makes this mid-price Punta Cana adults-only resort unique: particularly small and elegant resort + usually the most affordable option in Cap Cana

Hilton La Romana Adults Only
The last option among our mid-price adults-only all-inclusive resorts in Punta Cana for affordable luxury brings us out to Bayahibe, a small fishing village that is easily accessible from Punta Cana. It is just a one-hour drive from Punta Cana Airport to Bayahibe, not much longer than to some of the resorts in the north of Punta Cana.

Bayahibe is particularly known for its crystal clear water and the more relaxed vibe compared to Punta Cana, but there aren’t that many choices among all-inclusive resorts in Bayahibe. Hilton La Romana is one of the biggest hotels in Bayahibe and features a family-side and an adults-only side. Both are stand-alone resorts with full amenities, called Hilton La Romana Family and Hilton La Romana Adults Only.
Hilton La Romana Adults Only features five restaurants (among them 4 à-la-carte restaurants with no reservations required), five bars and lounges, two pools, waiter service at the pool and the beach, a gym and 24-hour room service. Non-motorized watersports are included, same as daily activities and nightly entertainment. You can use the extensive water park of Hilton La Romana Family as well as the 5 restaurants plus pizza snack bar, while families don’t have access to the adults-only side.
Hilton La Romana can be considered the best all-inclusive adults-only resort in Bayahibe and it perfectly fits within our criteria of affordable luxury and not breaking the bank. Furthermore, it is a perfect option if you’re looking for a Punta Cana adults-only resort without seaweed.
Pros:
– Best adults-only resort in Bayahibe
– Large selection of restaurants, especially if you include the family side
– Seaweed-free beach in the area of Punta Cana
Cons:
– Even though refurbished and renovated, the hotel is one of the older resorts in Bayahibe
– Located outside of the main area in Bayahibe, hence there is not much within walking distance
– More expensive transfer from Punta Cana Airport to Bayahibe
What makes this mid-price Punta Cana adults-only resort unique: one of the few options in Bayahibe, which is perfect if you’re looking for an adults-only vacation in the Dominican Republic without seaweed
Tripadvisor rating (as of January 2024): 4.5/5 (check reviews*)

Really enjoyed the information contained in your blog
Hi Chris:
Have enjoyed reading your observations about Punta Cana and have narrowed our choices for a 10 day all-inclusive adult-only stay in March ’25 to 2 properties, Serenade & Melia. We’re in our 70’s and still pretty active but are just looking for a relaxing getaway with clean, comfortable surroundings, good quality food, an expansive walking beach & friendly service. Could you maybe give us some of your expertise to help us decide between the two? Much appreciated!
Mike Granville
Moncton, N.B. Canada
Hi Michael,
both of the properties you have chosen are pretty suitable for the preferences you have described.
The main difference between both is the beach, which is better and offers better walking options at Melia.
If you can afford a The Level room, you will also have much better food at Melia compared to Serenade.
Here is our review of Melia in case you haven’t seen it yet: https://www.puntacanatravelblog.com/accommodation-resorts/melia-punta-cana-beach-resort-all-inclusive/
I hope this helps.
Best regards
Chris
