How to find the best cheap adults-only resorts in Punta Cana?
As mentioned, Punta Canas’ all-inclusive resorts which are adults only always come with a certain premium in terms of the price which is kind of logical: you exclude a big chunk of travelers, particularly families traveling to Punta Cana, from being your guests and are offering a more exclusive experience to your other (18+) guests. This additional advantage is worth some extra bucks, which is why adults-only resorts in Punta Cana and the Dominican Republic can be more expensive than other all-inclusive hotels in Punta Cana that don’t have this feature.
But, it is not necessary to spend a fortune on decent Punta Cana resorts with adults-only service, which is why we have created this blog post. As you can see in the following list of affordable adults-only hotels, adults-only in the Dominican Republic don’t need to be expensive.
To make sure we’re only recommending true affordable and budget-friendly adults-only all-inclusive resorts in Punta Cana for you in this post, we have cross-checked prices for 6 different dates and seasons. To be eligible for this list, the resort must meet the following criteria:
– A week in a double room during the high season costs less than 2500 USD (less than 1250 USD per person)
– A week in a double room during the summer season costs less than 2000 USD (less than 1000 USD per person)
– A week in a double room during the low season costs less than 2000 USD (less than 1000 USD per person)
AND
– of course, the hotels must be adults-only
For our price samples, we picked two dates in February and March (high season), two dates in July and August (intermediate season/summer season) and two dates in May and June (low season). If you’re wondering what is the best time to travel to Punta Cana, continue reading here.
If an adults-only resort is not that important for you, you can also check out our list of the cheapest resorts in Punta Cana and the best affordable all-inclusive hotels in Punta Cana.
Another thing important to know is that all of the following recommendations are stand-alone adults-only all-inclusive resorts in Punta Cana. Even though you might have access to neighboring hotels (particularly as it is the case at Grand Bahía Principe Aquamarine and Catalonia Royal Bavaro), they all have their restaurants, their pools, their beach, their lobby and any other amenities you could think of. We are not just talking about a specific adults-only section at a regular family-friendly resort in Punta Cana as you might have seen in other cases.
The best budget-friendly adults-only all-inclusive in Punta Cana
Before mentioning the Top 4 among the cheapest all-inclusive resorts for adults-only in Punta Cana one has to say that those 4 are by far the leading hotels when it comes to this category. They all managed to meet the pricing requirements outlined above during every of the six sample months tested.
Furthermore, all the other all-inclusive adults-only resorts in Punta Cana were significantly more expensive in most of these seasons, hence the following resorts are your best choices when looking for the top adults-only all-inclusive resorts in Punta Cana on a budget. The resorts are listed in the reverse order of their prices, going from more expensive to the cheapest all-inclusive resorts in Punta Cana at the end.
Catalonia Royal Bavaro
Catalonia Royal Bavaro is our No. 4 pick when it comes to the cheapest adults-only hotels in Punta Cana. While it is considerably more expensive than the other resorts presented in this article, it is also much cheaper than the other Punta Cana adult resorts. It features an average price of around 1000 USD per person per week, which is usually less during the low season and more during the high season.
Catalonia Royal Bavaro is a stand-alone resort with plenty of restaurants and amenities, which allows you to completely enjoy this very affordable all-inclusive adult resort in Punta Cana. It features 5 restaurants, a pool area, a swim-up area, several other bars throughout the resort, activities and a beach area. What makes Catalonia Royal unique are the several cozy corners and designs around the resort with stunning photo opportunities, which makes the resort feel more like a boutique hotel in Punta Cana. The small size of this affordable adults-only all-inclusive resort intensifies this feeling.
However, for some more options, especially regarding the beach, entertainment and restaurant, you might want to hop over to Catalonia Bavaro Beach. As we had only a short stay at Catalonia Royal Bavaro, we didn’t use the interchanging facilities, but a year later, when we returned to Catalonia and stayed at Catalonia Punta Cana this time, we saw that this hotel also had some pretty cool features to offer (even though it is even cheaper than Catalonia Royal Bavaro).
As a guest of Catalonia Royal Bavaro, you have full access to Catalonia Punta Cana. If you are a buffet eater, it might be worth hopping over to Catalonia Punta Cana as their buffet is immense, with one of the best salad bars I have ever seen in any resort in Punta Cana and the Dominican Republic. Furthermore, there are much more entertainment and activities going on on the Catalonia Punta Cana side compared to Catalonia Royal Bavaro, which is a quiet and relaxed couples-friendly resort in Punta Cana for adults and a good option for a romantic and easy-going honeymoon in Punta Cana. Last but not least, even though just around 100 feet away, the beach at Catalonia Punta Cana is much more beautiful and one of the most stunning stretches you can find in the Cabeza de Toro area.
Pros:
– Stand-alone adults-only resort with unique restaurant options, among them a Peruvian à-la-carte restaurant or a Tapas restaurant
– Full access to neighboring Catalonia Punta Cana with plenty of restaurant and entertainment options
– Very affordable swim-out rooms for Punta Cana + stunning water villas for an amazing price
Cons:
– Standard rooms at Catalonia Royal Bavaro are outdated
– For entertainment and the most beautiful beach you have to change over to neighboring Catalonia Punta Cana
– Food might be inconsistent; the buffet for example is much better at Catalonia Punta Cana than at Catalonia Royal Bavaro
What makes this cheap Punta Cana adults-only resort unique: quiet resort, wonderful design, compact size and interesting restaurant options + a gorgeous beach at neighboring Catalonia Punta Cana
Average price: 285 USD per room per night
Price example in low season: 224 USD per night per double room
Price example in high season: 337 USD per night per double room

Punta Cana Princess
Punta Cana Princess is our No. 3 pick when it comes to cheap all-inclusive adults-only resorts in Punta Cana – and it just missed the No. 2 spot by a mere 2 USD difference per room per night. With an average of 1794 USD per week per room (256 USD per night on average) it is considerably cheaper than Catalonia Royal Bavaro described above.
Punta Cana Princess is a stand-alone resort with no access to other all-inclusive hotels in Punta Cana. Likewise, no other hotel guests have access to Punta Cana Princess during their vacation.
Compared to the other Princess Resorts in the Dominican Republic – Grand Bavaro Princess, Princess Family Club Bavaro, Tropical Deluxe Princess and Caribe Deluxe Princess – it is the only resort that is not completely renovated. In fact, similar to the other cheap all-adult resorts in Punta Cana mentioned in this article, the rooms are a bit on the older side and only partially renovated. Particularly the honeymoon suites are much more modern. If you’re looking for more adult-only hotels in Punta Cana with renovated rooms, our list of the best all-inclusive all-adult resorts for affordable luxury might help.
Qualitywise, you can expect a decent medium-sized and -priced adults-only resort here at Punta Cana Princess. 4 à-la-carte restaurants are waiting for you, along with 1 buffet, several bars as well as a large tropical garden area. The main pool is located very close to the fantastic Arena Blanca Beach, one of Punta Cana’s stunning beaches.
Pros:
– Stand-alone adults-only resort in Punta Cana on a beautiful stretch of beach (Arena Blanca)
– Well-balanced resort with good food, nice beach, tropical gardens, attentive service and affordable prices
– Good amount of entertainment without being one of Punta Canas’ party hotels
Cons:
– Most rooms at Punta Cana Princess Adults Only are outdated
– Isolated location without public transport access or any stores close by (but Ubers are working in this area)
– Beach might be prone to seaweed during the sargassum season in Punta Cana
What makes this cheap Punta Cana adults-only resort unique: a good mix of everything allows several types of travelers to enjoy this resort
Average price: 256 USD per room per night

Riu Republica
One of the Punta Cana all-inclusive resorts for adults-only I wouldn’t recommend to everyone but which is an amazing option for the right kind of travelers is Riu Republica. With a current average price of 254 USD per room per night, this hotel is well suited for our top picks of the best cheap adults-only resorts with all-inclusive in Punta Cana.
Riu Republica is Punta Cana’s top party resort, which already explains why it is not recommendable for everyone. If you’re looking for a romantic honeymoon in Punta Cana or just want to relax without too much music and entertainment, Riu Republica is not the right choice for you.
On the other hand, if you’re looking for one of the best all-inclusive resorts in Punta Cana for young adults and love to socialize, mingle, drink and party, Riu Republica is a great choice – and a very affordable one as well. It is so reasonably priced, that it not only makes it into this list here of the best budget-friendly adults-only all-inclusive resorts in Punta Cana, it is also part of our overall best affordable hotels in Punta Cana.
Riu Republica is a stand-alone resort with some incredible features: with 7 main pools, it has more pools than most other adults-only all-inclusives’ in Punta Cana and the 9 restaurants (buffet and à-la-carte), 3 snack bars and 13 bars are also pretty impressive compared to other hotels in Punta Cana.
Besides this, there is a large offer for parties and activities even though you also always can find a quiet spot. There is a party pool for example close to the beach, but especially those areas and pools in the back of the resort are much quieter and suitable to relax. Riu Republica Punta Cana offers several themed parties per week and offers a free shuttle and access twice weekly to the massive Riu Parties, which take place at a separate venue approx. 10 minutes driving away. The nightclub at Riu Republica is also worth mentioning as it is one of the few ones at adults-only resorts in Punta Cana which are truly busy and with a lively vibe.
Pros:
– Most active party resort in Punta Cana with daily events, happenings and themed parties
– Large selection of restaurants with interesting culinary themes (Indian, Asian, Sushi, etc.)
– Twice weekly access to the massive Riu Party events
Cons:
– Even though the rooms were only built in 2016, they show a lot of wear and tear and partially lack some maintenance
– Riu Republica Adults Only is not a resort for everyone – you should be at least interested in parties to have a great time here
– The service is very effective but not overly personal
What makes this cheap Punta Cana adults-only resort unique: the best option if looking for an adults-only party hotel with a spring break vibe
Average price: 254 USD per room per night

Price example in high season: 302 USD per night per double room

Bahía Principe Grand Aquamarine
The best cheap all-inclusive adults-only resort in Punta Cana with an average price of 226 USD per room per night is Bahía Principe Grand Aquamarine, part of the large Bahía complex in Punta Cana.
While Bahía Principe Grand Aquamarine is a stand-alone hotel with all the services you need, among them 3 restaurants and 2 bars, you probably will get more value from your adults-only vacation in Punta Cana when occasionally hopping over to the other parts of the resort, especially when it comes to restaurants, as you do have access to the à-la-carte of Grand Bahía Principe Punta Cana, Bavaro and Turquesa. Furthermore, Grand Bahía Principe Aquamarine is not located right at the beach, as it is a 5-6 minute walk or a 2-3 minute trolley train ride, hence you’ll pass the other resorts of Bahía anyway. However, the Aquamarine Adults Only does have its beach area and shares the beach club, restaurants and bars with the other Bahía Punta Cana resorts – read more about them in our Bahía Principe Esmeralda review.
What sets Bahía Principe Grand Aquamarine apart from other all-inclusive adults-only resorts in Punta Cana and the Dominican Republic is its new approach towards entertainment and activities, which was only launched shortly before COVID-19 in 2019. Among them are new themed nighttime activities such as a DJ in the lobby, cocktail workshops, bubble baths, burlesque shows, wine tasting, silence disco or a Dominican full moon party. Also, in terms of sports, you can enjoy TRX, CrossFit, Zumba, HIT training, merengue and salsa dancing classes, among others.
All these components make Bahía Principe Grand Aquamarine a perfect adults-only resort, particularly for active travelers, who love to mingle with like-minded travelers, are active and are looking for new resort concepts without staying at a massive party hotel as it is the case with Riu Republica. Overall, this makes Aquamarine not only one of the cheapest adults-only resorts in Punta Cana but also one of the best.
Pros:
– Cheapest adults-only resort in Punta Cana and therefore suitable for nearly every budget
– Great selection of sports, activities and entertainment, without being a party resort in Punta Cana
– Aquamarine Resort itself is rather compact, which makes it easier to meet like-minded travelers
Cons:
– Even though the rooms are partially renovated, they are still kind of outdated
– Bahía Principe Grand Aquamarine is not located directly at the beach, you need to walk around 5-6 minutes or take the free trolley train to reach Arena Gorda Beach
– The resort is huge and some walking might be involved if you want to reach some of the shared facilities of Bahía Principe Punta Cana Resort
What makes this cheap Punta Cana adults-only resort unique: unique activities, a social vibe, and the most affordable prices

Price example in high season: 284 USD per night per double room

Other cheap adults-only hotels in Punta Cana and the Dominican Republic
The 4 resorts mentioned are our favorites and those we can recommend when it comes to affordable and budget-friendly adults-only resorts in Punta Cana. If you can’t find the right option among those, make sure to check out the best Punta Cana adults-only all-inclusive resorts for affordable luxury in the medium-price segment, which might only be marginally more expensive depending on your travel dates.
However, there are also a few more cheap adults-only resorts in the Dominican Republic you can consider, most of them not too far away from Punta Cana. Here are some very interesting alternatives:
HM Alma de Bayahibe
HM Alma de Bayahibe (adults-only) is, together with its sister resort in Punta Cana, HM Bavaro Beach, by far the cheapest adults-only resort in the Dominican Republic. And considering the price of usually around 90-125 USD per night per room in low season and around 200 USD per night per room during the high season it is impressive to see what service you have included: a decent room, 3 meals a day + snacks, alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks for nearly 24-hours a day (with limited selections and brands though) and several pools are just a few of the amenities HM Alma de Bayahibe feature. Additionally, you are right at the ocean, even though this cheap adults-only resort doesn’t have a beach.
The reason why HM Alma de Bayahibe (formerly Whala Bayahibe) doesn’t make it to the top 4 of this list despite its attractive price point is that I would not consider it an adults-only resort in the Dominican Republic where you want to spend 24 hours a day. There is not much entertainment in the hotel, there is no beach and after a couple of days, the food might be pretty repeating. Still, considering the price, you get a great deal and you absolutely can enjoy your adults-only vacation here if you plan to explore the surrounding a bit and want to eat in a few public restaurants anyway.
There is an extensive review about HM Alma de Bayahibe here in case you’re interested in more details from our stay.
Bayahibe is just a mere 1-hour drive away from Punta Cana. Check out all the options for getting from Punta Cana Airport to Bayahibe here.
Bahia Principe Luxury Bouganville
If it weren’t be the location, Bahia Principe Luxury Bouganville might be the best cheap adults-only all-inclusive resort in Punta Cana and the Dominican Republic. It offers plenty of restaurants with delightful cuisine, wonderfully maintained rooms and a good level of personalized service. It is at least one or even two steps up from most of the resorts mentioned above, especially its peer for the hotel brand, Grand Bahía Principe Aquamarine.
However, I wouldn’t call Bahia Principe Luxury Bouganville a proper Punta Cana adults-only all-inclusive resort, particularly due to its location. It is 1.5 hours away from Punta Cana International Airport and options to explore the surroundings – at least with the typical excursions – are pretty limited. Also beachwise it can’t compete with Punta Cana or Bayahibe, as it is just a small beach with sometimes murky water.
If this doesn’t deter you, Bahia Principe Luxury Bouganville is an amazingly affordable adults-only resort in the Dominican Republic with outstanding value for money.
Viva Wyndham V Samaná
One last option for an affordable adults-only vacation in the Dominican Republic we’d like to suggest here is Viva Wyndham V Samaná, located in the beautiful beach town of Las Terrenas. It is a 4-hour drive from Punta Cana International Airport but if you happen to land at Santo Domingo Airport anyway, it is just a 2-hour drive to this resort, which is located at Playa Coson, one of the best beaches in the Dominican Republic.
Viva Wyndham V Samaná is particularly a great choice if you want to explore the incredibly beautiful Samaná peninsula as the nature here is simply stunning. Furthermore, it is a perfect option if you’re looking for a kind of modern room, as the hotel was only opened back in 2017. However, the food is not always top-notch, hence you shouldn’t be gourmet if you’re coming here.
